As an experienced Midwife, Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (Health Visitor), and Public Health Practitioner, Becca is passionate about advocating the importance of the Best Start in Life.
Awarded Membership of the Faculty of Public Health in 2022 for her contributions to public health, Becca has a proven track record of leading large-scale change across complex healthcare systems, including the implementation of the NENC Tobacco Dependency in Pregnancy and Postnatal Period Pathway and the NHS Long Term Plan.
Delivered through a health inequalities lens and a population health management approach, her current portfolio includes work on tobacco dependency in pregnancy, perinatal mental health, breastfeeding, reproductive health, and maternal healthy weight. By supporting the workforce, local systems, research, and education, Becca has led and created a range of public health initiatives, resulting in high-quality service improvements in clinical practice that contribute to reducing health inequalities.
Throughout her career, Becca has developed strong skills in influencing, negotiating, and planning, as well as in people and business management. Her key strengths include effective communication, political awareness, emotional and business intelligence, understanding diverse perspectives, engaging with and managing complexity, and using these skills to solve problems and deliver results. She also maintains a passion for teaching, delivering lectures in various education programmes and providing coaching to strengthen the maternity, nursing, and health visiting workforce.
