NENC LMNS Shortlisted for the Bright Ideas in Health Awards 2024

The North East and North Cumbria Local Maternity and Neonatal System (NENC LMNS) is delighted to be named a finalist in this year’s Bright Ideas in Health Awards.
Now in its 19th year, the prestigious awards celebrate the achievements of individuals and teams working within the NHS, industry, and academia, who have risen to the challenge of improving services provided to patients, either through technical innovation or better service delivery.
Hundreds of innovators from across the North East and North Cumbria submitted deserving entries across ten categories.
The NENC LMNS Programme Management Team and Clinical Leads have been shortlisted for the Innovation Champion Award for their dedication to improving outcomes for women, babies, and families across North East and North Cumbria.
Their work focuses on listening and working with families, supporting and growing the workforce, and developing a culture of safety and learning. With these efforts, the team strives to ensure that care is consistently safe, personalised, and equitable for women and families across the North East and North Cumbria.
Nicola Jackson, Deputy Director for the NENC LMNS, said: “I am hugely proud of the work we do in partnership across the system, and it is fantastic to see this work recognised in the Bright Ideas shortlist. I’d like to extend a huge thank you to our extended team members, as we couldn’t achieve what we do without them.
“We owe it to all women and babies in the North East and North Cumbria, now and in the future, to listen to their voices, personalise their care, and ensure each and every one of them receives the safest possible care—delivered with kindness and compassion and tailored to meet their individual needs.”
The team will discover if they’ve won at the Bright Ideas in Health Awards ceremony on 21st November 2024, held at the Hilton Hotel Newcastle Gateshead. Winners across the ten categories will each receive a cash prize in recognition of their achievements.
